Halloween is one of your favorite holidays but the scary music just gives you the creeps. The sound of shrieking screams, howling wolves and moaning ghosts really bring on a bad case of the heebie-jeebies. Learn to tune out creepy Halloween music and enjoy your favorite holiday with half of the fright.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Wear ear plugs. If the scary Halloween music really frightens you, tune it out. Many haunted houses play scary music to add to their scary effect. If you can handle the sights but not the sounds, insert the ear plugs into your ears just before you enter.
Step2
Wear headphones. Bring along an iPod or portable CD player to any Halloween functions. The minute the scary music begins to play, put on your headphones and drown out the creepy sounds with your favorite tunes.
Step3
Sing to yourself. If you find yourself at a Halloween party without your ear plugs or headphones, make your own music. When you hear scary music begin to play or hum an upbeat tune to yourself. Focus on the melody that you hum and the creepy sounds will fade into the background.
Step4
Think happy thoughts. Your mind is a powerful tool. Use it to move your thoughts away from the scary music. Focus on positive images and visualize happy places. Imagine yourself in bright and sunny locations to help you ignore the dark music.
Step5
Kill it with conversation. If you are at a party and suddenly hear scary Halloween music, talk over it loudly. Make lighthearted conversation with friends to take your mind off the disturbing sounds and ease your nervousness. Talk at an increased volume to ensure that you drown out the creepy music. Focus on what your friends say so you hear their words instead of the scary music.

Tips & Warnings

  • Play Halloween games instead of listening to creepy music.
  • Make Halloween crafts instead of listening to scary music.
