Many people have hectic daily schedules to follow, so it may seem like a waste of time as you wait for your computer to power up each day. If you have numerous programs that load, you may have to wait precious minutes before you can start working on your system. To avoid this annoyance, you can set your computer to automatically power up daily.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Step1
Purchase or download a software program that provides an auto power-up option. Windows users can rely on Auto Poweron and Shutdown from Lifsoft. Download a free version from the manufacturer's website (see Resources).
Step2
Install the software program on your computer. Follow the installation steps and then restart your computer.
Step3
Configure the settings. Open the Auto Poweron and Shutdown software program. You'll find the tools used to control the times your computer will reboot, shutdown and log off.
Step4
Set the time each day you want the computer to reboot. From the menu, you can set a daily reminder for the computer to start up on its own. If you ever wish to change the time, you can edit the settings.

Tips & Warnings

  • With the Auto Poweron and Shutdown program, you can also manage the times you want your computer to turn off. Many users set the computer to turn off automatically at the time they normally leave work.
  • Sync your computer's time with the software program's prior to setting the time for automatic power-up.
