How to Get What You Want From Parents

Pressuring parents to let you have what you want is not always an easy task. Many times parents will say no to things that you absolutely don't need. If you are aching for a new video game, pair of shoes or bicycle, ask your parents nicely and present it in a way that they would feel bad saying no. Persuading your parents to get what you want can be fun.

Instructions

    • 1

Explain to your parents what you want and why you want it. Even better, explain to your parents why you need the item. Conduct your research and educate your parents about the product.

    • 2

Show your parents how responsible you are. If you can continue being very responsible for just about a month, it will show your parents that you are consistent with your actions. Ask your parents for what you want after you have buttered them up.

    • 3

Save up some money for what you plan on buying. Once you get a good chunk of money saved, ask if your parents will contribute the rest of the money for an early birthday or holiday gift.

    • 4

Ask your parents very calmly and politely if you can get what you want. If you don't act immature toward your parents, you will show them how deserving you are of the item.

    • 5

Present your report card with good grades to your parents. Once you show them your report card, they may want to offer you a nice treat. Tell them what you want at this time.
