Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Things You’ll Need:
- Blank cards
- Envelopes
- Card stock
- Cookie cutter
- Patterned paper
- Lace or decorative trim
- Computer and printer
- Rubber stamps and ink
- Pens
Step1
Choose a blank card in a light, bright color like pink, lavender or yellow, or create one by folding a piece of card stock in half and trimming so it will fit into a coordinating envelope. Leave the card in rectangle form, or trace a teapot or teacup cookie cutter along the fold and cut the shape out to create a shaped card (see Resources).
Step2
Decorate the front of the card with a layer of patterned paper, a lace doily or decorative trim and accents like paper flowers. If desired, add a cute "You're Invited" stamp along the bottom of the invitation (see Resources).
Step3
Open the card and add the tea party details. Use a computer printer to output the text on a piece of vellum or coordinating card stock, or add it directly to the card with rubber stamps or pens. Include information like the date, time and location. Also consider asking guests to wear pretty party dresses or telling kids to bring a teddy bear to enjoy the tea.
Step4
Adorn the envelope to complete the look. Use the same patterned paper you used on the front of the invitation to line the envelope flap, write the recipient's address in calligraphy and seal it with a cute teacup or flower stamp (see Resources).
