Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Choose your fabric. Any sturdy fabric will do. Pick a pattern that appeals to you. Consider the occasion or your purse's intended uses when you choose fabric.

  2. Step 2

Cut your fabric in a "house" shape (a rectangle with a triangle on top). If you wish, cut out a pattern on paper first to ensure your coin purse is the size you want.

  3. Step 3

Squirt hot glue or fabric glue from the bottom corners of the triangle halfway down the sides of the rectangle. Fold the bottom half of the rectangle up and press the fabric into the glue to secure it. Allow the glue to dry.

  4. Step 4

Affix hook-and-loop tape to both the inside point of the triangle and the point on the purse where the triangle meets the purse. This forms the closure for your coin purse. Alternatively, use a snap instead of hook-and-loop tape for your closure.

  5. Step 5

Make your coin purse as simple or as elaborate as you wish. You can line your coin purse with a coordinating fabric, add a button or other notion to the front for decoration or glue a band of silk to the inside edge of your purse. Use your imagination.
