How to Get Good at an Experience Based MMORPG

From City of Heroes/City of Villains to Lord of the Rings Online to Firefly, there is a MMORPG that will catch your eye. Playing a Massive Multi Player Online Role Playing Game can either be fun or a colossal waste of time. The primary goal is to have fun spending time in a quality recreational activity.

  1. Step 1

    Research the type of MMORPG you want to play. With game genres ranging from science fiction to martial arts, it is important to select a game that interests you. Both the MMORPG and Onrpg websites have many free and trial MMORPG memberships (see Resources below).

  2. Step 2

    Review the game world overview, character classes and enemies information several times and visit the forums. These activities help to determine if it's a game you will enjoy and find interesting.

  3. Step 3

    Study forum posts on game play and updates, character classes and construction and beginning player FAQ's. Join game forums and ask existing players about game play.

  4. Step 4

    Choose 3 to 5 MMORPG to test. Create a basic character and advance him to level 5 or 6. Take notes of your likes and dislikes while playing. Interact with higher-level players and ask questions about the game. Compare game notes and select a couple of games for final evaluation.

  5. Step 5

    Play final 2 MMORPGs. Continue to ask players questions. Review the game website, fan sites and forums. Develop one character to levels 10 to 12. Choose the MMORPG that provides the richest experience. Explore different character classes to find the game's replay value.
