How to Do the Grenade Glitch in Resident Evil

One of the most popular glitches found in the original Resident Evil game is one that will give Jill unlimited ammunition for the grenade launcher. The trick can be a blessing for new gamers, but it requires specific step-by-step instructions in order for it to work.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Make sure you have the grenade launcher with at least two types of ammunition. You'll definitely want incendiary rounds, as they are the best. Load the ammo you don't want to use into the launcher.

  2. Step 2

Go to an item box on your screen and put all your items in it. Take the grenade launcher out of the box and put it in the upper-left item slot. Put one type of ammo in the upper-right item slot. Then close the box.

  3. Step 3

Open your inventory and equip the grenade launcher. Open the item box, select the ammunition from Inventory and press the "A" button twice to put the rounds in the box.

  4. Step 4

Move the control stick to the left to highlight the rounds while inside the box. Then, press the "A" button twice. You should now have the maximum of 240 rounds for the grenade launcher.

Tips & Warnings
  • While this will work for any type of ammo, doing it for incendiary rounds is highly recommended.
  • Even if you manage to deplete all 240 rounds, you can perform this glitch again to replenish them.
  • This glitch will not work in PAL versions of Resident Evil. You also cannot do it if Chris is your character, since he doesn't get the grenade launcher.
