Step 1
Sleep in as late as you can. Sunday is usually the easiest day to sleep in, as Saturdays tend to fill with chores and work.
-
Step 2
Be lazy part of the day if you can't sleep in. If there is a reason that you can't lay in bed all morning, then at least take a small part of your day to sit down and be lazy. Relaxing on Sunday reminds us why we work all week. Slouch in a chair and read the Sunday paper from cover to cover.
-
Step 3
Play or watch a sport. This is one of the few times you can get some exercise and enjoy the outdoors so take advantage. Golfing is a great way to relax. If you want to watch a game on TV, remember that the games don't start until the afternoon. Do something active before game time.
-
Step 4
Have a meal with the family. A Sunday dinner is a perfect way to conclude your day. Knowing how hectic everybody's schedules are during the week, Sunday dinner gives you a chance to connect before everybody goes their separate ways.
-
Step 5
Don't think about Monday. People who dread their job are the most miserable around 5 p.m. on Sunday afternoon. That is when it hits them that they have to go back to work for another week. If you think about working the next day, then you'll never have a perfect Sunday. Get anything related to your job done on Saturday, so you can have at least one work-free day.

on 8/14/2008 Most of us need a "free day" to balance out our lives. For me, it's staying up as late as I want Saturday night and sleep in on Sunday. Then, maybe spoil myself with a luxurious bath without having to rush. The perfect afternon for me would be a picnic at the beach, with my husband, a wonderful book and maybe nod off for a short nap. Then home for an early dinner. Yes!

on 8/14/2008 How about some spiritual regeneration? Taking time to give thanks, whether it be church, journaling, meditating, or taking a walk through the trees, I feel is an important part of the perfect Sunday. Count your blessings, pray for guidance, and be in a grateful moment.

on 8/12/2008 I disagree about sleeping in as late as you can. Whenever I wake up late, I am more tired than if I would have just woke up normal time and I feel like I wasted half the day just sleeping when I could have been productive or done something fun or yes, just sat around but at least spent time enjoying the day rather than sleeping it away.
