Kites date back in history over 2000 years. A recently renewed interest in kites have made them a popular leisure activity. Construct this kite as a breezy day project, using common household supplies.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Position the paper lengthwise. Fold the paper vertically in half.

  2. Step 2

Crease a triangle on the folded edge of the half paper at the top left corner to the bottom midpoint. Flip the top flap out from that new crease to form a kite shape.

  3. Step 3

Use the masking tape to secure an 8-inch bamboo skewer along the horizontal line between the two top corners of the kit. Place another strip of masking tape along the vertical crease to reinforce.

  4. Step 4

Punch a hole just below the place where the pencil meets the kite's vertical center crease. Tie a 15-foot sting through the hole and around the pencil. Wrap the sting around a piece of cardboard.

  5. Step 5

Cut 6 feet of party streamer and tape to the bottom edge of the kite for the tail.
