Some families have traditions and memories that center around the Christmas tree. You can make your own Christmas tree fairy with just some paper and imagination and create a keepsake that can pass down through generations.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Christmas wrapping paper
  • Large round object or compass
  • Scissors
  • Pinking scissors or decorative edgers
  • Wire cutters
  • Gold wire
  • Feathery ribbon or yarn
  • Tape
Step1
Lay a sheet of Christmas wrapping paper on the table. Set a large round object on the paper and trace around it to make a circle that covers most of the sheet. If you use a compass, set something under the paper to protect the surface of the table.
Step2
Mark the center of the circle. Cut a straight line from the edge to the center. Use the pinking shears or decorative edgers to cut the outer edge of the circle.
Step3
Cut a l2-inch length of gold-colored wire. Loosely fold it in half. Make a 1- to 2-inch loop in the center of the wire for the fairy's head.
Step4
Hold the paper in a cone shape. Insert the fairy's head into the center of the circle. Wrap an 8-inch long piece of wire around the center section of the paper to hold the fairy's head in place.
Step5
Make two identical wings for your fairy from identical pieces of wire. Wrap the wire wings with feathery ribbon or yarn. Attach the wings to the back of the fairy's body with tape or wire. Place the fairy on top of your Christmas tree.
