1
Gather your materials to your workspace. If you are going to paint the royal crown, put down some newspapers to help with the cleanup process.
-
2
Mark the center of the paper plate. Draw six spokes from the center point. You can pretend you are cutting a pie into six equal pieces. Use the ruler to keep your lines straight.
-
-
3
Fold the plate just enough to make a small cut on one of the lines. Slip the blades of the scissors into the hole to make the first long cut. Cut each of the segments to about 1 inch from the edge of the plate. If the crown is for a small child, leave a larger brim.
-
4
Bend each of the 6 segments up to form the points of the crown. Now it's time to make the crown special.
-
5
Use markers, colors or paint to color the entire paper plate. Set them aside to let the markers or paint dry.
-
6
Cut out "jewels" from colored pieces of construction paper. Or you can make flowers to go on the points of the crown. Use your imagination as you prepare the decorations.
-
7
Glue the decorations onto the completely dry paper plate. Put the crown on and go rule your kingdom.
