Everyone knows how annoying ads are. They pop up everywhere in our life. With Adblock Plus, a free add-on extension for Mozilla Firefox, you can cut down on the number of ads you see repeatedly as you surf the Internet. The program is easy to download. In now time you can set up a filter to block annoying ads.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy
Step1
Download the free Firefox browser onto your computer. Follow the onscreen prompts to set up Firefox to your specifications. If you have Firefox on your computer, skip this step.
Step2
Open your Firefox browser. Go to the Adblock Plus download page (see Resources below) or type in adblock in the Firefox search box.
Step3
Select "Add to Firefox." Choose "Install Now." Restart your Firefox browser to complete the add-on process.
Step4
Join a subscription list. Adblock presents a list of ads that are typically nuisance ads that people prefer to block. Choose the radio button for your region of the world. Click "OK."
Step5
Filter ads individually. From the Firefox toolbar click "Tools." Select "Add-ons." Highlight "Adblock Plus." Pick the "Options" link.
Step6
Click "Add Filter" from the toolbar in the dialog box. In addition to all the website ads blocked by the subscription, you can now type in the ads you wish to be blocked from your computer. You can edit filter to include jpg, java and flash as well as other file extensions.
Step7
Use the wildcard symbol "*" to broaden the range of your filters. This can enable you to cut through a wide range of ads, where the process in Step 6 can narrow the range and be quite specific.
