How to Make Lemon Lime Juice

As citrus fruits, lemons and limes seem to naturally go together. Instead of settling for just plain old lemonade, treat yourself to a lemon-lime juice beverage. The vitamin C content in lemon juice alone offers up nearly 50 percent of your diet's daily value. Plus, both lemons and limes are filled with essential phytonutrients to protect you from disease.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Juicer or food processor with juicer attachment
  • Lemons
  • Limes
  • Sharp serrated knife
  • Sugar, honey or substitute sweetener
  • Salt, optional
  • Single serve glass or pitcher
  1. Step 1

    Cut the lemons and limes in half for juicing with a sharp serrated knife. You can set aside one lemon and one lime for garnishing the drinks before serving.

  2. Step 2

    Juice enough lemons and limes to produce your desired quantity of lemon lime juice. Add sugar, honey or your preferred substitute sweetener until the sweetness or tartness of the juice is to your liking.

  3. Step 3

    Make your drink more festive and create a mocktail look by dipping the rim of the glass in water and then dipping it in salt. This is good if your drink is on the tart side.

  4. Step 4

    Pour the juice into the pitcher or glass. Garnish the glass with a slice of lemon or lime.

Tips & Warnings
  • To get the most juice out of a lemons or limes, let them set until they reach room temperature before juicing. You can also roll them back and forth on a counter to break down the pulp and release the juice within the skin of the fruit.
