When it comes to understanding the female gender, many men don't even know where to begin. Your ideas of how women should behave may cause problems when you're on the dating scene. Learning to improve your perspective on women isn't easy, but it is crucial to finding a real relationship that has staying power.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Evaluate your preexisting ideas and then work toward changing those that don't hold true. The first woman a man falls in love with usually is his mother. You spent years watching your mother, and you have set ideas of what a woman should do and behave like. Before embarking on a relationship, dig deep into your past, decide what you think an ideal woman is like and compare it to reality.

  2. Step 2

Be open to new ideas. Your mother may have felt fulfilled staying home, raising kids and having a hot meal on the table every night for dinner. The women you know are probably driven and accomplished, with dreams and goals similar to yours. Ask a woman you're interested in what her goals are and be supportive of her reaching those goals.

  3. Step 3

Listen to the women in your life. Ask each one what her greatest fears are, and then really listen to what she has to say. Most women are more than happy to share their feelings, if you're willing to be an engaged listener.

  4. Step 4

Put her first on your priority list. Before delving into a relationship, you may want to consider making some behavior modifications. Stop thinking of how things affect you, and start thinking about how your actions affect the other person. This will help you gain some perspective on the women in your life.
