You'll often find large crowds cheering on someone who knows their moves in break dancing. If you're new to the break dancing scene but want to learn a move to impress everyone, one of the easiest to learn is the two-step.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Stretch and warm up before trying any break dance moves. This will keep you from a pulled muscle or other injury.

  2. Step 2

Wear loose and comfortable clothing. Break dancing requires you to have a full range of movement and you don't want your clothes restricting your moves.

  3. Step 3

Practice on a wood floor, mats or place cardboard over concrete. Carpet isn't slick enough to do the quick movements used in break dancing.

  4. Step 4

Start with both feet on the floor, knees bent and your hands on the floor behind your back. This is the crab position.

  5. Step 5

Straighten your left leg and bring it under your rear. Sweep your right leg around your left leg and at the same time bring your right arm across your body and switch hands.

  6. Step 6

Shift weight onto your left arm while using your left leg to hop and twist your torso. This will land you back in the crab position.

Tips & Warnings
  • Strengthen your arms and abs. Many of the moves in break dancing require use of these muscles. Bigger muscles mean better dance moves.
  • Sign up for a break dancing class. Many of the larger cities offer these classes and a professional teacher can give you a jumpstart by teaching you some of the basic and more complicated moves.
