When you're not able to pop in and visit relatives or friends on Thanksgiving, send a card that'll do the popping for you. Make a pop-up turkey greeting card to send good wishes for Thanksgiving or any time of the year.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Draw a head, body and feet on one piece of card stock and a wing span on a second piece.

  2. Step 2

Cut the two sections out and decorate the fronts using crayons, markers or anything else you want.

  3. Step 3

Fold along the dotted lines of the pattern, or down the middle of your turkey drawing. Then fold the wingspan in half and add folds between each feather section so they resemble an accordion.

  4. Step 4

Get another piece of heavy card stock. This is your card base. Fold it in half.

  5. Step 5

Glue the edges of the wing span onto the turkey body. Then glue the body to the card. The middle of the body is in the middle fold of the card.

  6. Step 6

Attach wing edges to the card so they pop up out of the card. The head also pops up when you open the card.

  7. Step 7

Leave the card open until the glue dries to avoid accidentally gluing the card together.

Tips & Warnings
  • Choose different colored card stock for your turkey and card shell to make the turkey stand out even more.
  • Print a turkey pattern off the Free Kids Crafts website (see Resources below) or make your own pattern.
