If you have created some gradient presets in Adobe Photoshop CS3 you easily can save them. This way you can open these gradients whenever you need to use them, again. Follow the steps below to save a gradient to a file in Photoshop.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Start Adobe Photoshop CS3 and open an existing document from your files or create a blank document.

  2. Step 2

Select the "Gradient" tool from the Photoshop toolbox. This tool shares the same button with the "Paint Bucket" tool so you may have to hold down the button and select "Gradient" from the pop-up list. Once you select the "Gradient" tool, its properties will appear near the top of the Photoshop toolbox, just underneath the menu bar in the options bar.

  3. Step 3

Click the current gradient selected in the options bar. This is the second button on the options bar. The "Gradient Editor" will open on the desktop.

  4. Step 4

Right-click the "Save" button in the "Gradient Editor" dialog box to open the "Save" dialog box. You will be brought to the default location for saving gradients in Photoshop.

  5. Step 5

Save the gradient presets here or use the "Save in" drop-down list to choose another place to save your gradients.

  6. Step 6

Type a name for the gradient presets in the "File name" text box at the bottom of the "Save" dialog box.

  7. Step 7

Click the "Save" button to save the presets and close the dialog box. Click the "OK" button to close the "Gradient Editor" and return to your Photoshop document.
