How to Overclock an Electric Eraser
Electric erasers remove the wrist work from a mundane task by spinning the eraser electrically so you don't have to. However, if you have large areas you want to erase or frequently need to use your eraser, the standard speed of the average electric eraser may not be fast enough for you. You can increase the velocity by overclocking it.
Things You'll Need
- Electric eraser
- 9-volt battery
- 9-volt battery clip
- Soldering iron
- Solder
Instructions
-
-
1
Remove the AA battery from the electric eraser's battery housing. Attach the 9-volt battery to the 9-volt battery clip. Tape the 9-volt battery to the electric eraser.
-
2
Strip the ends of the red and black wires of the 9-volt battery clip so there is enough wire exposed to make a good soldering connection.
-
-
3
Use the solder and soldering iron to solder the red wire of the 9-volt battery clip to the positive terminal of the battery casing.
-
4
Solder the black wire of the 9-volt battery clip to the negative terminal of the battery casing to finish overclocking the electric eraser.
-
5
Insert the 9-volt battery into the battery clip.
-
6
Solder or tape the 9-volt battery to the body of the electric eraser.
-
7
Turn the electric eraser on. Watch the eraser spin much faster than before you made your modifications.

Tips & Warnings
Tape the 9-volt battery in place rather than soldering it for a temporary modification.
Don't wear holes into your project's paper. The eraser's increased speed will make it work faster than you're used to, so pay attention and don't let the eraser get away from you.
