How to Dance Drum and Bass

There are no pre-set rules about how to dance drum and bass, mainly because every one has their own version. Remember that you can't break the rules, because they don't exist. Go with your instincts to truly embrace the beat.

Instructions

    • 1

Slow down the pace you are dancing. If you try to dance every beat, you'll soon be exhausted and, unless you're a pro, look foolish doing it. Move to every other beat so you are still "in time" with the rhythm, but you won't fall over from exhaustion after just one song.

    • 2

Dance the 2-step but a lot quicker. Move your arms out and then bring them together again in time with your steps. Use your arms for added expression at high points in the music by holding them above your head or hold one out and move the other up and down for emphasis.

    • 3

Bounce on the balls of your feet. When you bounce, you will be more flexible and able to move quicker than when you take full steps. Hold your heels off the floor and jump up and down at peak points in the music.

    • 4

Nod your head vigorously to match the beat and hunch your shoulders inward slightly. It may be a copout, but this form of "dancing" is probably the most popular at a drum and bass event. If you have no talent for dancing at all, or you're just plain lazy, do the hunch and bop and you'll have no fear of standing out from the crowd.
