Things You'll Need:
- Strong wire
- Wire cutters
- Round-nose pliers
- Beads
-
Step 1
Cut a piece of strong wire into a 2-inch long piece with wire cutters. Sterling silver wire works great for this project.
-
Step 2
Twist 1 end of the wire with a pair of round-nose pliers until you form a small circle at the end. This will form the clasp for your earring.
-
Step 3
Turn the rest of the wire around with the pliers to form a circle in the size of your choice. If you encounter difficulty making the circle completely round or making the 2 earrings the same size, twist the wire around something round to make it easier.
-
Step 4
Bring the 2 ends together until you can clasp the hoop with the small clasp you have made on one end of the wire.
-
Step 5
Open the hoop by separating the 2 pieces sideways, instead of pulling it apart. Pulling it apart will compromise the circular shape of the hoop.
-
Step 6
Place the decorative beads of your choice onto the hoop and close the circle by bending the wire back into shape.
-
Step 7
Form the second earring exactly as you did the first. Make the 2 circles of the hoop earrings identical in size and shape.
-
Step 8
Clasp the earrings and they are finished.
