How to Serve Rack of Lamb

You might think that you can't make rack of lamb at home. However, if you have the time and the know-how, you too can make a beautiful and delicious rack of lamb for your next special dinner. Things You'll Need

  • Lamb chops from a rack of lamb
  • Roasted or baked red new potatoes
  • Demi-glace (or a glaze)

Instructions

    • 1

      Place several small roasted or baked red new potatoes in the center of a plate. Six small potatoes make a good serving size.

      Take two lamb chops from the rack of lamb and cross the bone ends of the lamb chops into an X shape.

      Stand the crossed lamb chops up on the plate in front of the potatoes. Use the potatoes to support the standing lamb chops.

      Top with a sauce such as a demi-glace, if desired (see Resources below for a recipe).

      Repeat Steps 1 through 4 for the other remaining dinner plates.

      Serve the rack of lamb and potatoes at your next dinner party or other special dinner.

Tips & Warnings

  • Instead of serving rack of lamb with red new potatoes, you can serve rack of lamb with mashed potatoes. Simply place mashed potatoes in a mound on the center of the serving plate. Use the mashed potatoes to support the standing lamb chops as in Step 3.

  • Garnish with freshly chopped parsley if desired.
