Cheese bread is one of life's little delicacies that is available to everyone. Whether you prepare a gourmet meal or one dish to have on a lazy evening, cheese bread makes a statement. Learn a few tips that professional chef's use to prepare the bread ahead of time.

Things You’ll Need:

  • Long loaf of bread
  • Sharp knife
  • Margarine spread
  • Herbs
  • Cheese
Step1
Buy a full loaf of fresh-baked Italian or French bread. Find bread like this in any grocery store with a bakery department. You'll see it just screams for cheese.
Step2
Heat your oven to a temperature of 500 degrees or use your oven's broiler. Prepare the bread by splitting it in half lengthwise with a long knife. Make certain that both pieces are the same thickness. Place the bread open on a cookie sheet.
Step3
Spread a thick mixture of fragrant Italian herbs or minced garlic, plus margarine or olive oil on top of the bread halves.
Step4
Prepare and shred mozzarella or cheddar cheese. Top your bread halves liberally with the cheese, to taste.
