Most women don't look forward to purchasing a swimsuit. However, women of all body shapes and sizes can find flattering and supportive swimsuits for their bodies. Women with larger busts need to be concerned primarily with bust support when looking for a swimsuit. Follow these steps to help you find a swimsuit for a larger bust.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Opt for a swimsuit with a built in bra. Some swimsuits have molded bra cups or built in underwires. These can contain, support and flatter a large bust. Some swimsuits even have bra cup sizes to help you get a more customized fit.

  2. Step 2

Look for swimsuits with wide straps, which are essential to providing support for the large bust. Swimsuits with wide straps help hold the bust up and can provide the support you need.

  3. Step 3

Choose a halter-top for your swimsuit. Halter-tops provide flattering support for a large bust, and their structure helps hold a large bust in place. Halter-tops even allow you to show off some of your cleavage, which can be very flattering.

  4. Step 4

Think about the neckline of the swimsuit, as you have several options to consider. Higher cut necklines support large busts, while V-necklines can also flatter a large bust. Make sure that the V-neckline doesn't cut too low, however, or your large bust won't have adequate support.

  5. Step 5

Consider the fabric content of the swimsuit itself. Lycra is a great fabric choice for a swimsuit for a larger bust. The Lycra provides adequate support for a large bust while having enough stretch to accommodate the curves of a larger bust.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can wear a swimsuit in any color that you choose, however, dark colors can help minimize a large bust.
  • Higher cut armholes on a swimsuit can also help support and contain a larger bust.
  • Avoid swimsuits that offer no support for a larger bust. Both strapless swimsuits and bikinis with a triangular shaped top offer little or no support for the bust.
