The Frisbee turn in salsa is the outside turn with a little bit of pizazz. It seems appropriate for a Latin dance. It's a little tricky as you will be moving your feet on beats you normally would step in place, but it's well worth the effort to learn.

Difficulty: Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Step forward with your left foot on the first beat as you begin the Frisbee turn in salsa dancing.

  2. Step 2

Move your right foot and forward to the side (about a shoulder's width apart from your left foot) on the second beat. In other turns, you would just step in place, but with the Frisbee turn in salsa, you need to move your back foot forward as well.

  3. Step 3

Pivot around to the back on your right foot as you do a Frisbee turn in salsa, and end up facing the other way with your legs about a shoulder's width apart. Make sure you do this on the third beat of the music.

  4. Step 4

Go back with your right foot on the fifth beat as you do the Frisbee turn in salsa dancing. Do not take a big step backward as you usually would, but keep your right foot just a little behind your left.

  5. Step 5

Proceed forward on the sixth beat with your left foot, then bring your right foot up beside your left foot on the eighth beat.

  6. Step 6

Practice the Frisbee turn over and over before attempting it with your partner. It'll be a little tricky to remember to step forward with your on the second beat, then actually move it back a little on the fifth beat instead of leaving it in place as you normally would. With enough practice, you can make the transition between the regular outside turns and the Frisbee turns without thinking about it.
