Let your Valentine's Day cards express the sentiment of the season by stamping "Love" in a prominent place on the front. Once you've obtained a blank card or created one with a piece of cardstock, use these tips to add the word with an eye-catching font and vibrant ink.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cardstock
  • "Love" stamp or letter stamps
  • Stamping ink
  • Chalks, pens or colored pencils
  • Glue and glitter
  1. Step 1

Choose a single stamp that says, "Love" or use alphabet stamps to create the sentiment. Consider the size of your card to determine how big the stamped image should be. Letter stamps are available in sizes ranging from a 1/4 to 3-inches tall. (See Resources)

  2. Step 2

Select a shade and type of stamping ink. Although dye-based inks dry quickly, their colors may also fade over time. Pigment inks are slow drying, but feature more vibrant hues.

  3. Step 3

Invert the stamp and pounce the ink pad onto the surface until it's evenly covered. Press it onto the card firmly without rocking it. Consider stamping the Valentine's love message on a piece of coordinating cardstock that you can adhere to the card base later in case it stamps unevenly.

  4. Step 4

Add color to outline-style letters by shading them with craft chalks or coloring them with pens or colored pencils. You can also add glamour by outlining or highlighting solid "Love" letters with glue and sprinkling with glitter.

  5. Step 5

Embellish with other Valentine's Day-related stamped images like hearts, cupid or roses. You can also add dimensional accents around the letters like paper flowers, chipboard hearts or pretty ribbon to complement the love theme. (See Resources)
