You don't need a ton of money to make someone's Valentine's Day special by creating your own Valentine's Day coupons that promise the recipient anything from cleaning the house to a romantic dinner for two. Coupons are even a great idea for kids to give their parents because all they require is a bit of time at the craft table, and a willingness to help.

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Choose the shape and cut it out of construction paper. You can make your Valentine's Day coupons any shape you want, from a standard rectangle to a heart. To add some detail, use different colored paper and scrapbooking scissors that create decorative edges.

  2. Step 2

Write down your promises. Using markers in various colors or something more flashy like glitter glue, write a favor, a chore or other promise on each coupon. You can offer to wash the dishes, walk the dog, give a back or foot rub or take someone to dinner and a movie; the possibilities are endless.

  3. Step 3

Decorate your Valentine's Day coupons. Once you have the messages written, you can decorate the coupons to reflect the likes of the recipient or what the coupons offer. Use stickers, markers, ribbon or any other craft supply you have on hand.

  4. Step 4

Assemble the coupons. Once finished writing the messages and decorating the coupons, you can put them together in the form of a coupon book. Either punch holes in the coupons and bind them with ribbon or staple them together on one side.

Tips & Warnings
  • Present the Valentine's Day coupons to the recipient in a small gift bag, wrapped in tissue paper.
  • Remember that these coupons will be redeemed, so don't offer anything you're not prepared to carry through.
