Things You'll Need:
- Christmas fabric
- Scissors
- Straight pins
- Thread
- Sewing machine
- Cotton batting
-
Step 1
Choose Christmas novelty fabric with pictures that are large enough for you to cut Christmas decorations from it. If you want the same image on both sides of your Christmas decorations, make sure your fabric contains at least two instances of your chosen image. If not, you can use any two pictures as long as they're about the same size.
-
Step 2
Cut out the pictures. Leave at least a 5/8-inch border around the pictures when you cut them out, though you needn't be too exact.
-
Step 3
Pin your fabric pieces together with straight pins with the wrong sides out. The right sides should be together.
-
Step 4
Thread your sewing machine with a thread that coordinates with your fabric. Set your machine to a zigzag stitch, which prevents the fabric from raveling. Set your stitch length fairly short (about 2 or 3 on your machine).
-
Step 5
Keep your stitches close to the edge of your fabric. Sew up three sides, and stop about halfway down the fourth side, to leave room for stuffing your Christmas decorations.
-
Step 6
Turn your fabric right side out and begin stuffing your ornament with cotton batting.
