Flat panel Christmas decorations are a fun and easy holiday activity you can do with children. In addition to learning crafting skills, everyone ends up with a great new tree decoration. Below, we'll tell you how to add the finishing touches to your flat panel Christmas ornament.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Pink the felt edges of your ornament with pinking shears after you glue the fabric picture to the felt. Leave enough felt border around the fabric picture to make the picture really pop. Try to cut the felt so that the border is even all around the picture.

  2. Step 2

Cut a length of ribbon in a color that coordinates with your Christmas decoration. Make it as long as you like, though a length of a few inches is usually enough for most people.

  3. Step 3

Crisscross the ends of the ribbon. Add a tiny dollop of glue to one of the ends of the ribbon and secure the other end of the ribbon in that glue. Now you have a loop you can glue on the back of your Christmas decoration.

  4. Step 4

Find the center on the back of your flat panel Christmas ornament. Squirt a small amount of glue in the center of the back of your decoration. Affix your ribbon loop to the glue. Allow the glue to dry completely.

  5. Step 5

Hang your flat panel Christmas decoration on your Christmas tree and appreciate it for many years to come.

Tips & Warnings
  • Fabric glue, which is readily available at most fabric shops, is perfect for this project. If you decide to use hot glue, closely supervise children during this craft so they don't burn themselves.
