Step 1
Examine the battlefield closely. There are often areas where it's easier for your units to move. While it might be tempting to move through them, watch out for bottlenecks, or areas where your army gets "bunched up" and unable to fight effectively.

Step 2
Decide where your units will be moving. Before a single piece is touched you should have a good idea of where you want your units to end up. Even if you won't reach that point this turn, it's still good to have a clear idea beforehand.

Step 3
Move the back member of a squad first. Squad units are weak individually but strong as a team. If you move the member in the back first, you'll see the maximum distance that they can move. This will help you keep your squad from becoming separated.

Step 4
Leave Hero Units with your army. While a few Hero Units work well alone, most of them work best with support from nearby squads. Don't lead with a single powerful unit because if it's defeated it may ruin your overall strategy.
