HeroScape, originally made for children, found a fan base among serious wargamers. Its easily understood rules, combined with premade figures and terrain, created instant appeal with players. One of the cornerstones of the game is maneuvering your troops, both to attack your opponent and to defend yourself.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Determine if the target is within range of your figure. The target must be no more than the number of spaces labeled "Range" on your army card.

  2. Step 2

Move down behind your figure so you can see behind its head. If you can see your target, then it's available to attack. If not, then it's not within line-of-sight and you can't attack it.

  3. Step 3

Shift your figures within their space anytime on your turn. Sometimes figures have strange shapes and configurations. By moving them slightly, you can gain line of site on a tricky figure.

  4. Step 4

Move only your pieces and only on your turn. Don't touch your opponent's figures at any time and don't move your own pieces on their turn.

Tips & Warnings
  • Unless there are specific scenario rules forbidding this, it doesn't matter if part of the line between the figures goes off the battlefield. Range may only be counted on tiles though, making certain attacks impossible even when you can see your target clearly.
