Originally designed for young children, HeroScape has found a home among wargamers of all ages. It's inexpensive, easy to learn and quick to set up and play. There are two version of HeroScape included in every set: the Basic and the Master versions. Both rule sets involve creating an army and accomplishing a specific goal, often engaging and defeating an opposing army.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Attack in the HeroScape Basic game by moving one piece so it is adjacent to an enemy. Remember that you can only attack on your turn with your active piece.

  2. Step 2

Roll a number of Combat Dice equal to the attacking figure's Attack Score and take note of the number of red skulls showing.

  3. Step 3

Defend by rolling a number of Combat Dice equal to the defender's Defense Score and take note of the number of blue shields showing.

  4. Step 4

Determine the outcome of the battle by comparing the two values. If there are more skulls than shields, the attacker has won and the piece is removed from the board. If there are more shields, then the defender has successfully repelled the attack.

Tips & Warnings
  • In the original version of HeroScape there were red and blue dice for attacking and defending. Now there are just the white Combat Dice that are used for both.
