Like most busy mothers, it's difficult for actress Uma Thurman to squeeze in time for a workout every day. Thurman manages to stay in shape by watching what she eats and exercising when she can. The following are some steps you can take to stay fit like the performer.

  • Yoga class
  • Pilates class
  • Martial arts class
Step1
Take up the Wushu style of martial arts. Thurman attributes weight loss of 25 pounds in six weeks to the Wushu martial arts training she had to do for the film "Kill Bill."
Step2
Enroll in a Hatha yoga class. Even though Thurman admits that she hated yoga when she first began practicing, she says she loves it now and tries to squeeze in an hour of yoga when she can.
Step3
Participate in outdoor sports to stay fit and have fun outside of the gym. Among Thurman's favorites are horseback riding, skiing and snowboarding.
Step4
Join a Pilates class. Thurman has trained with Pilates instructor Alycea Ungaro, who specializes in traditional techniques. Buy Ungaro's DVDs and books to get started or check you local gym for class offerings.
Step5
Start walking. Thurman often takes hour-long walks to keep her legs and cardio-vascular system in shape.
