Offense sells tickets in basketball, but defense and toughness win championships. While Ron Artest has yet to win a title, he exemplifies these attributes to a tee every time he steps foot on the basketball court. This defensive mindset is something anyone can incorporate into his game.

Instructions

Difficulty: Challenging

Step1
Play basketball with an unbridled enthusiasm. Ron Artest plays the forward position with what can be best described as controlled ferocity. He goes after every basketball and defends against every player in each game as if it were his last.
Step2
Keep your feet moving. Artest maintains constant motion on the court. You must keep moving and stay on the balls of your feet so that you are never flat-footed or off-balance.
Step3
Acquire the ability to score close to the basket or away from the hoop. Artest is one of the hardest players to defend because he can make a jump shot from the outside or score on a variety of post moves from the inside. Teams that play him never know what he is going to do on offense. Develop a versatile offensive game that makes it difficult for teams to defend against you.

Tips & Warnings

  • Practice as many hours as you can. Artest works on every facet of his game every day.
