Step 1
Hop forward onto your left foot as if you are taking a step forward, but exaggerate the motion and don't put your right foot back on the ground. Instead, balance on your left leg, which should be slightly bent, and keep your right leg, also bent, in the air behind you.
-
Step 2
Place your right arm out in front of you, also in an exaggerated motion, so that your right hand is above your head.
-
Step 3
Switch feet and hands in a single motion, hopping from your left foot onto your right foot and swinging your left hand up as your right hand comes down and extends behind you.
-
Step 4
Remain in place as you shift back and forth between feet. The Running Man must be done in place, and in other types of dance you accomplish this by sliding your base foot along the floor with each step. In Reggaeton simply make sure that each time you hop, the foot you plant replaces the foot you were standing on before.
-
Step 5
Shift to the other foot with every beat, whether the music is fast or slow. If you want to vary the move, you can do it twice as fast or half as fast as the music, but start with one step per beat for the basic motion.
-
Step 6
Allow your back, neck and head to flex as you move. Your head may bob a little bit as you do the Running Man. Your entire body should stay loose as you dance, and keep some bend in your knees and elbows at all times.
