How to Add Vegetables to Fried Rice

Chinese food is a very popular ethnic food in the United States and around the world. Each day, millions of people go to Chinese restaurants to eat fried rice. Fried rice is one of the most popular Chinese plates. It contains rice, meat and vegetables. Here are a few steps on how to add vegetables to fried rice when preparing it.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • White rice
  • Green onions
  • Green peppers
  • Mixed vegetables with corn, peas, and carrots
  • A sharp knife
  1. Step 1

    Cook the rice until it is fluffy. Drain the water and set the rice to the side in a bowl or on a plate.

  2. Step 2

    Chop the green onions using the sharp knife. Chop them into very small pieces. Scoop them up and place them on top of the cooked white rice.

  3. Step 3

    Cut the green peppers. Cut them into very small pieces in the same manner as you cut the green onions. When you finish cutting the green peppers, scoop them up and put them on top of the cooked white rice with the green onions.

  4. Step 4

    Mix the green onions and green peppers together with the white rice. Add the other mixed vegetables such as corn, peas and carrots.

  5. Step 5

    Fry the rice with vegetables and meat when you are ready to serve it.

Tips & Warnings
  • Be sure to wash the vegetables before adding them to the rice.
