Learn to pray to the Virgin Mary to come to a deeper understanding of Jesus Christ and experience the depths of His love. Communion in prayer with our Holy Mother helps us reject sin and prepare ourselves to study the liturgy.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Kneel, sit, lie down or stand. Relax your body as much as your position will allow. Make the Sign of the Cross.

  2. Step 2

Allow your mind to go blank. Try for a few moments to think of nothing at all. Clear away all your thoughts, worries and fears.

  3. Step 3

Meditate on Mother Mary's role in the life of Christ. Contemplate the circumstances of His conception, birth, death and resurrection. Imagine Mary's reaction to each of these events.

  4. Step 4

Pray one of the written prayers from the "Catholic Book of Prayers" or other devotional text, pray the Rosary or simply talk to the Blessed Mother as you would your own mother. Picture yourself growing closer to the Holy Lady with each word of prayer.

  5. Step 5

Ask the Virgin Mary for her intercession in your life. Implore her to help with a particular problem, if you wish. Assure her of your devotion to her and your trust in her powers of intercession.

  6. Step 6

Complete your prayer by thanking the Virgin Mother for her role in Christ saving the world from its sins. Acknowledge all she has done for you and her unending love for you.

  7. Step 7

Say "Amen" and make the Sign of the Cross again. Continue in prayer, read the Bible or continue your day.
