How to Make the Last Days of School go by Fast
Both students and teachers dread the last few days before school lets out for summer. The kids want to start their vacations, while the teachers have much business to attend to before they can wrap up the school year. Here are some ideas both kids and adults can use to make the last days of school pass faster.

1
Plan a party. Nothing makes time pass faster than having something to look forward to. Let students plan every aspect of a last-day-of-school bash, including the decorations, snacks and games. Check your school rules to see if an off-campus party is a possibility.

2
Make a memory book. Give kids access to notebooks, paper, scissors, markers, stickers and glue, and let them create scrapbooks for the school year. If possible, let the students use a few instant cameras so they can take photos of each other. Grade the finished products if your students need one last graded assignment, but make it fun so the time passes fast.

Write letters to next year's class. Ask the kids to write letters to your future students and include advice, memories, jokes or anything else they think the next class should know. Allow your class to read them on the first day of school next fall.

4
Clean your room. Younger kids especially love to help Teacher any way they can. Assign your students chores like cleaning chalkboards, wiping down desks and straightening books. You won't believe how fast you can tidy your classroom with some young and eager helpers.
-
5
Let your students grade you. Ask students to complete a form detailing what they did and didn't like about their year in your class. You might gain some valuable insights.

6
Create postcards the kids can send to each other over the summer. Assign students a pen pal, and have them decorate postcards and write short messages to each other. After the kids turn them in, pick a date when you will mail them during the summer months.
