Working and non-working moms alike strive to make quick tasty meals that never fail to please. While most cooks add flavor to foods through long, slow simmering, making quick tasty meals challenges you to find other ways of infusing flavor. Not only do quick tasty meals get dinner on the table in under 30 minutes, these recipes are usually much easier to prepare than standard ones.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Collect pasta recipes. Many quick sauces for pasta cook in the time it takes for the pasta water to boil. For example, simmer garlic in olive oil for 30 seconds before stirring in fresh spinach and stir-frying for two additional minutes to prepare a tasty sauce for pasta.

  2. Step 2

Use spices and herbs at two stages during cooking of quick tasty meals. In the first stage, add the spice and herb while the food cooks. In the second stage, add a final blast of spice and herb at the end of cooking to provide extra taste. Flavorful spices are oregano, cumin, rosemary and thyme. Flavor herbs are parsley, basil, cilantro, mint and dill.

  3. Step 3

Keep your pantry and freezer stocked with ingredients used in most quick tasty meal recipes. Those ingredients include canned broth, canned beans, canned tomatoes, jarred chopped garlic, frozen chopped onions and mixed vegetables and instant rice and pasta mixes. Make a quick tasty soup by first cooking the frozen onions in oil and then adding jarred garlic, canned tomatoes, canned beans, mixed vegetables and instant rice.

  4. Step 4

Purchase thinly sliced, recipe-ready meats, chicken and fish fillets. These handy items go from the package into the pan without any advance preparation work.

  5. Step 5

Choose tender cuts of meat, such as the filet or the round, that don't need long cooking to tenderize them.
