Instructions

Difficulty: Challenging

Make the Wasp

Step1
Take a regular 8 ½ inch by 11 inch piece of paper and cut it in half width-wise. Cut the halves in half again width-wise.
Step2
Fold the small piece of paper in half length-wise as you're making a paper wasp, then fold it in half again length-wise.
Step3
Do one more fold length wise, the fold the paper in half width-wise when you're making a paper wasp. Do one more fold length-wise, and voilà, you have a paper wasp. You'll notice that the paper may unfold a little. Do not despair—the effect will be more wasp-like.

Fire the Wasp

Step1
Loop a rubber band around the fingers of your left hand as you prepare to fire your paper wasp.
Step2
Separate your pointer finger and thumb so both fingers form a "u."
Step3
Tuck the paper wasp inside the "u" and against the inside of the rubber band. Be sure to grab both ends of the wasp as you hold it and the rubber band at the same time as you get ready to fire your paper wasp.
Step4
Pull the rubber band back and let it go, sending your paper wasp flying.
