Step 1
Step forward with your left foot and turn your body to the right 90 degrees. Keep your weight on your left leg while you look toward the right.
-
Step 2
Keep turning another 90 degrees, so you're facing away from the direction you started in. Shift onto your right leg as you step onto your right foot.
-
Step 3
Turn the rest of the way around while keeping your weight on your right foot. End the turn by putting your left leg next to your right foot and placing your weight on your left foot.
-
Step 4
Clap your hands with the beat and get ready to move with your right foot.
-
Step 5
Move your right leg back, shifting the weight to your right foot, without lifting your left foot from the ground.
-
Step 6
Shift your weight from your right foot to your left foot, then put your right foot near your left foot, and shift your weight from your right foot to your left.
-
Step 7
Mark the beat by clapping your hands again.
-
Step 8
Practice doing the salsa right turn steps over and over until you get them right before doing them with a partner. When dancing the salsa with a partner, you dance not in a mirror fashion but opposite. When you step back, your partner will step back.
