How to Make a Spooky Graveyard for Halloween
Creating a spooky graveyard in your front yard can be a great way to get a Halloween feel for guests and trick-or-treaters. Even a simple graveyard can be scary in the dark or you can go all out with various special effects. Your house will stand out and you'll have fun putting the look together.

Create tombstones for your yard by painting foam board that you've cut into the shape of tombstones. You can put fun or scary epitaphs on the tombstones with paint or markers as well. If you don't want to make your own, you can also buy pre-made tombstones.

Arrange your gravestones for the best effect. Try to put your tombstones around the yard in random spots. You can also lay some on the ground
like they've fallen over or have some at odd angles rather than having them straight up and in rows. -

Mound dirt in front of the tombstones and put some fake body parts coming out of the grave. You don't need a lot of dirt to make the scene look creepy. Try bloody fake hands or feet rising from the grave.

Place cobwebs and Spanish moss on the tombstones and in other areas of your yard. You may want to place some in your trees or shrubs as well. Include graveyard decorations such as shovels, caskets and dead flowers or other items in your yard and on your porch to carry the theme throughout.

Use the light in your yard wisely to create a spooky effect. In some cases, you may want to use candles or lanterns to keep the light dim. You can put simple, dimmed spotlights on the graves to highlight them or focus your available light on them.
