Choose the type of candy bar that the recipient loves. Measure and trim a piece of cardstock or patterned paper so it's big enough to wrap around the bar. It's okay if the original wrapping is visible from the side. If you're using a double-wrapped Hershey bar, for example, remove the top wrapper and use it as a template to create the new label, leaving the foil layer intact.

Create a personal design on the front of the wrapper with small photos, stickers, paper punches, rubber stamps and even dimensional embellishments like buttons and paper flowers. Use pens to write a personal note in back where the candy bar's "nutritional information" would appear.

Wrap the new label around the candy bar and secure it in back with tape or a thin line of liquid glue.

Use the same design process on a smaller scale to cover the existing wrappers of individually wrapped pieces like mints or bite-sized candy bars.

Turn individually-wrapped cookies or flat-candy bars like Peppermint Patties into decorated lollipops. Trim a piece of cardstock into a circle that covers the surface and decorate it, as desired. Push a stick up through the bottom of the cookie or simply tape it to the back of the wrapper. Enclose everything in a clear bag tied with colorful ribbon. (See Resources)

Add a personal touch to bags of loose candy by looping textured ribbon around the neck. Make a cardstock tag with a personal message or quote and slip it onto the ribbon before tying a bow.

Produce a large volume of personalized candy bars as party favors or birth or wedding announcements by using software that will help you design and output labels on a color printer. You'll only have to trim, wrap and seal them. (See Resources)
