Jumping off a curb on roller blades is very similar to jumping off a curb on a skateboard. Naturally, you need to be careful so that you don't crash and get hurt. Follow these steps to learn how to jump off a curb on roller blades.

From Quick Guide: Rollerblading
Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Roller blades and safety gear
  1. Step 1

Wear protective gear so that if you do fall, you won't get hurt seriously. This gear should include a helmet, kneepads, elbow pads and wrist guards.

  2. Step 2

Remember that most curbs have a bump next to the edge in addition to a bump next to the curb on the surface on which you will be landing. Because of this, you will need to hop a little bit so that you clear it completely.

  3. Step 3

Skate toward the curb and get some momentum. Keep your knees bent slightly and your feet together, but not touching.

  4. Step 4

Hop over the curb and bring your knees up toward your body a little. Hop high enough so that you don't touch the curb. However, don't hop so high that you come down too hard, which could cause you to lose your balance.

  5. Step 5

Keep riding smoothly away from the curb while keeping your balance. Keep an eye on where you're going so that you don't run into something else.

Tips & Warnings
  • Attempt this trick only after you can use rollerblades on flat surfaces without falling and can also stop when needed.
  • Don't get in too much of a hurry. Mastering this trick will take some time, so be patient and take your time learning it.
