A plain razor scooter can get boring after awhile. This is when it is time to modify it and make a racing or choppa scooter. All that is required is replacing the handlebars with either racing bike or chopper handlebars. After you replace this you can train yourself in a new way of riding and spice things up a bit. Follow these steps to make a racing or choppa scooter.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Remove the "T" bar from the razor scooter. To do this, loosen the clamp located near the bottom of the "T" bar, also known as the handlebars. Unscrew it and take it off.

  2. Step 2

Purchase a groove stem for the new handlebars, available in sizes to fit every scooter. You can purchase groove stems at bicycle parts retailers or online at the Crupi BMX website.

  3. Step 3

Buy handlebars to convert your razor scooter to a racing or choppa scooter. If you want a racing scooter buy flat mountain bike or BMX handlebars. If you want a choppa scooter invest in a pair of chopper bars.

  4. Step 4

Attach the groove stem to the bar previously attached to the "T." Connect the handlebars to it and you now have a racing or choppa scooter depending upon the handlebars you chose.

  5. Step 5

Learn to ride your new racing or choppa scooter. You won't need to make too many adjustments to your riding if you used chopper bars because they will be about the same height as the "T" handlebars. For a racing scooter you will need to crouch down and lean forward to ride.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure to tighten the handlebars securely. If they become loose you are at risk for injury to your wrist, elbows and head.
