Love is slippery and wonderful, like a cold doggy nose in your face in the morning. It can wake you up and fill you with a sense of purpose. In order to keep love, you must care for it. Sometimes the hardest part is to love someone despite their flaws. Here is how to love a person for who they are.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Give your love to another person, but cease demanding their love in return. When you love a person for who they are, you must simply give your love and give them the freedom to reciprocate that love or throw it back.
Step2
Advise the person you love, but never berate her for her mistakes. If a person, who is fallible by definition, asks for advice about a sticky situation, you must love her for who she is and allow her to make her own mistakes. Some of the most important lessons learned are the ones where you fall on your face and have to recover from them.
Step3
Accept his flaws and faults, because they are a part of him. You love a person for who he is by taking all of their personality as a package deal. It is never a good idea to try and change someone you love, because he may balk and leave.
Step4
Understand yourself well enough to know what you can and cannot accept in a partner. If you have a strong religious background that cannot accept someone who drinks or doesn't believe in God, then you have to be honest with potential mates. You can love someone for who she is only if she is the type of person you want to be with.
Step5
Settle for nothing less than someone who makes you happy. If you are attracted to her, she makes you laugh and you could see making a family with her, don't disregard her for yawning with her mouth open. Love her for who she is, and that means accepting the good with the bad.
Step6
Love someone for who he is by loving yourself and who you are with that person. If you feel the need to put on a show to try and impress him, then you may have a fundamental problem that cannot be overlooked. Find someone to love who you are comfortable enough around to truly be yourself.
