Chihuahuas are known for their devotion, ferocity and personality. Chihuahuas focus their devotion on one person. Because of their size, they are easier to carry around and are fun dogs to have as pets. Unfortunately, there are many kids that would love to own a Chihuahua, but their parents say "No." Here are a few steps on how to get parents to allow a pet Chihuahua.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Explain to your parents that you want a Chihuahua. Be prepared to tell them why you want a Chihuahua dog and not any other breed of dog.
Step2
Show your parents you are ready to take on the responsibility of caring for a Chihuahua. Be responsible for cleaning your room and offering to help out around the house. Show them that you are ready to own the dog and can accept the responsibility.
Step3
Tell them why you want a Chihuahua. For example, all your friends have a pet dog and you would like one that you can call your own, play with, train and be a companion.
Step4
Discuss the cost of a Chihuahua. Offer to use your allowance to help buy and take care of a Chihuahua. This is another way of showing responsibility and that you are serious about getting a Chihuahua.
Step5
Cry if they say "no." It's hard for a parent to say no to a crying child. If they still insist on saying no, ask them why they are saying no and try to understand why they are saying no.

Tips & Warnings

  • Pick a day when both your mother and father are in a good mood to bring up the idea of having a pet Chihuahua.
  • If someone in your family is allergic to dog hair, tell them that a short-haired Chihuahua is a good pet because there is no shedding.
