How to Get a Class to Stop Thinking One was Flirting

There is nothing like young love. But there is also nothing like the pain and aggravation that you go through in school when your entire class thinks you like someone else. The gossip mill starts churning and before you know it, everyone in the class thinks you were blatantly flirting with someone. Here is how to get your class to leave you alone at school.

1. Keep your composure when confronted. Whether someone quietly pulls you aside, or someone else blatantly calls it out from across the room, the best way to put the first seed of doubt in their head is by keeping calm. They will be expecting the opposite reaction and when you don't give it to them, they will be completely confused.
2. Change the subject in front of your class mates. The best way to make the potential "flirting" a non-issue is simply to change the subject. By immediately moving on to school work or other things you have to do, they will be thrown. This will provide a second seed of doubt.
3. Block out repeated attempts of people trying to get you to admit you were flirting. This will come in flurries if people really thought you were flirting. Keep your composure and keep changing the subject. This is a war of attrition.
4. Avoid contact with the person you were supposedly flirting with for the next couple of days. This doesn't mean you should be weird or strange and refuse to speak to them if you happen to be situated near them. It just means that you don't go out of your way to engage with them. After a few days, the rumors in your school class will subside, as there will undoubtedly be some other set of rumors flying.
