There is nothing like playing with a big hunk of Silly Putty. After all, it's, well, silly. You can make it into virtually any shape and have hours of fun as you twist and stretch. Well, there's also a way you can make it pop. It creates quite a sound. Here's how.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Silly Putty

Step1
Shape your Silly Putty so that it is in the shape of a ball. The shape is not entirely important, as long as you are clumping it in a huge mass, but a ball tends to work best.
Step2
Press your thumb into the Silly Putty so you make a hole. Be sure not to stick your thumb all the way through and out the other side. Just enough that you are making an air pocket.
Step3
Close off the air pocket of the Silly Putty by pinching the end closed. You now have a shape that is analogous to a Silly Putty bubble.
Step4
Pop the Silly Putty by smacking your two hands together as if you are clapping. It will make quite a startling sound that will impress your friends and annoy your teachers and parents.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you are really good, you'll get to the place where you can make two air pockets in one piece of Silly Putty. Simply press your thumb in on each side, being careful not to go through the middle. Then close off each end, smack your hands together and get double the sound.
