There's nothing worse than sitting in science class and listening to your teacher drone on and on, while the clock seems stuck at a standstill. It's like the class will never end. Enter the paper clip slingshot. You can use it to fire a few spit balls across the room. Just don't get caught and end up in detention. Here's how to make a paper clip slingshot.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Lay the paperclip on a desk or table and manipulate it so that it is perfectly straight.
Step2
Bend the paper clip so that it forms a "W" shape. Make sure the mid-point of the "W" is lower than the two sides so that when you fire a spit ball it isn't obstructed.
Step3
Cut the rubber band with your scissors.
Step4
Tie each end of the rubber band around each post of the "W" shaped paper clip.
Step5
Test your paper clip sling shot by pulling back the elastic and letting it snap. If the rubber bands stay tightly tied and the rubber band doesn't hit the center post of the "W," you have yourself a slingshot.

Tips & Warnings

  • To make a spit ball that you can fire, simply tear a small piece of paper, crumple it up into a ball, pop it in your mouth and give it a few quick chews and it is ready to fire.
  • Line up targets several yards away from you and have a contest amongst your friends on who can hit them the most.
  • Never aim for someone's eye. In fact it's a better idea not to aim at people at all.
