How to Entertain Oneself During a Long Test

The only thing worse than actually taking a long test is the boredom that comes with waiting for it to finish. Entertain yourself in between to make the time go faster and keep yourself sane, while waiting for your release back into the world.

1. Finish your test and check it over several times. Even though you probably never want to look at it again, reading through your answers is always a good idea. The second time around, you can spot any mistakes and make corrections. A few more extra marks could mean the difference between a grade or even a pass or a fail.
2. Look around the room at the furnishings on the wall or the other people taking the test. Count to ten, then close your eyes and look down at your paper. Take a spare sheet of paper and draw a diagram of the room or the places where people are sitting. This is great for your memory and should waste at least 10 minutes.
3. Take a blank sheet of paper or the back of your test and write a letter at the top. Write down 10 different categories such as sport, fruit, or team and think of one for every category that begins with your chosen letter. If you finish, pick another letter and go again. Remember to cross through or throw away your extra paper so you don't hand it in by accident.
4. Pull down your sleeves if you are wearing long sleeves or bunch some material up on the desk in front of you. Close your eyes and lay down on the padded surface. When all else fails, use your extra time to catch up on some sleep. The quiet surroundings and ticking clock will slowly lull you to dream land.
